Nirvana College proudly welcomes Dr. Ram Chandra Lamichhane as its newly appointed Principal, a distinguished scholar, visionary leader, and one of South Asia’s foremost experts in Appreciative Inquiry, peacebuilding, leadership development, and transformative education.
Dr. Lamichhane brings with him an exceptional academic and professional legacy. He holds a Ph.D. in “Peace and Development in Nepal: An Appreciative Inquiry Approach” and is internationally certified in “Appreciative Inquiry for Igniting Positive Business and Societal Transformation” from Case Western Reserve University, USA. He is also a Certified Trainer in “Conflict Transformation and Peace Building Across Cultures” from the SIT Graduate School, USA.
Recognized widely for his pioneering contributions, Dr. Lamichhane introduced Appreciative Inquiry in Xi’an, China in 2013, an achievement that expanded positive transformation practices across Asia. His leadership journey includes serving as Founder & Board Director of Capital College and Research Center, Promoter of Gyankunj College, Shareholder of Kathmandu Forestry College, Founder Vice Chairperson of the City Planning Commission of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Executive Member of CEAPRED, Former President of Imagine Nepal, and Founder of the Eastern Research Institute of Positive Science (ERIPS).
Dr. Lamichhane has facilitated global-level Appreciative Inquiry and leadership programs at esteemed institutions such as Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Zhengzhou University, Scietic School of Management, and several business schools across Xi’an, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. His contributions extend to international platforms such as the 5th World Appreciative Inquiry Conference in South Africa, the Asian Broadcasting Union 52nd General Assembly in Istanbul, Turkey, the Asian Media Summit in China and Malaysia, UNAPCICT Conference in South Korea, and evaluation forums in Kathmandu, New Delhi and Colombo. He has also led key leadership development trainings at IIRR Philippines and the Civil Society Forum in Bangladesh.
Beyond academia, he is an inspiring writer, lyricist, motivator, and development thinker—having trained over 10,000 individuals in leadership, positive thinking, organizational excellence, and life transformation. His work in promoting positive school culture and academic leadership development has positioned him as a national pioneer in Nepal’s education reform landscape.
With deep passion and clarity of purpose, Dr. Lamichhane envisions transforming Nepal’s education system into a globally respected model.
