“Empowering Party Members for Social Transformation: Strengthening Organizational Capacity through Appreciative Inquiry”

Introduction

On 9th August 2024, a significant training session titled “Empowering Party Members for Social Transformation: Strengthening Organizational Capacity through Appreciative Inquiry” was conducted under the auspices of the Pokhara Metropolitan Party Committee of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML). This one-day intensive training was meticulously organized to address the pressing need for intellectual empowerment and practical skill enhancement among the party’s members. The session attracted the participation of approximately 300 individuals, including committee members, elected representatives, and the in-charge and secretary of all 33 wards of Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Sushil Basnet, Secretary of the Pokhara Metropolitan Party Committee, described the training as an eye-opening experience that empowered participants to act decisively in their roles.

Jivan Acharya, Chairperson of the committee, praised the training for surpassing expectations, highlighting the dynamic and invigorating atmosphere it created, which will undoubtedly fuel future initiatives.

Krishna Thapa, the former Mayor, Member of the State Assembly, and head of Kaski UML, emphasized the importance of such training in fostering a sense of comradeship among party members and reinforcing their collective resolve to achieve the party’s objectives.

Radhika Shahi, Chairperson of Ward No. 17, lauded the training’s design, content, and delivery, noting that it cultivated a profound sense of unity and belonging among participants.
